We wanted a one day trip to the "Big Island" and decided on- One-Day Hawaii Volcano Eco-Adventure Tour from Maui with Big Island Volcano Tour from Maui. The day started early and ended late... BUT we had a great time. From the minute we landed at the airport-Steve our tour guide was there to meet us and made us feel like Ohana (family in Hawaiian). During our entire tour of Volcanoes National Park he was a wealth of information. We had many stops and he always kept us on time for the final stop-the breath taking view at dusk of the caldera. Truly a sight to see. Mahalo Steve for a great day
We did the one day Maui to Big Island volcano tour. Price includes all flights and the tour itself. Our driver YB was very well informed, full of information and tales of Hawaaiin legends. . We saw waterfalls, banyan trees and a great shortbread cookie factory before heading up to Kilauea itself. The volcano and the many miles of Volcanoes National Park really is a wonder to behold. Plenty of stops to wonder around and take photos. We visited the Caldera twice, during the day to see the steam and at night to see the steam lit up by the lava. Amazing. We also visited the Thurston Lava Tube which was pretty amazing too. All in all a long but very interesting day
We experienced the Big Island Hawaii Volcano Eco-Adventure Tour with Steve. We flew over from Maui and he was the perfect host and guide from the moment we met him in the lobby of the airport at Hilo. Our bus had 20 people from every culture. He was very knowledgeable about the island, Hawaiian history and legends and especially the volcano park. Not only was he knowledgeable but excited and passionate about everything he was telling the group. He stopped at places he thought were important sites for us to see, he even stopped for us to grab a picture of the rare Nene. We had lunch in Hilo in a restaurant at one of the hotels, we could have the buffet or order a burger which was big enough for two. The gift shop had snacks and drinks to purchase before the departure to the volcano park. For dinner, we ate at the military cafeteria up in the park, it was good and affordable and hit the spot right before seeing the sunset. We highly recommend this organized tour and wish he could've taken on us on all our tours throughout Hawaii. HIGHLY RECOMMEND...WORTH THE MONEY! If you're going to spend the money to go to Hawaii, it's worth a little more to enjoy this all day tour.
